Food allergy is a reaction of the body caused by eating certain foods and affects to your skin, your gastrointestinal tract, or respiratory tract. There are many symptoms caused by food allergies. The effect of food allergy can be mild or severe. Sometimes these allergy symptoms can occur within a few minutes after eating food. However, this allergy can be difficult to detect and are often mistaken for food poisoning. Even so, there are some differences between food allergies with food poisoning. Food poisoning can be occurring when someone is eating contaminated food or whatever. While there will be significant allergies to certain foods. It could affect the immune system and cause allergies.

Causes

The cause of food allergies does not fully understand because food allergies can cause a number of symptoms. A reaction to food allergy is depending on the type and severity of reactions that occur in the body. Common food allergies and immune system releases antibodies and substances in response to the entry of certain foods. Symptoms can be localized in the stomach and intestines or may cause symptoms in various parts of the body after the food is digested and absorbed. The symptoms are occurring after eating some foods. You will feel itching on the skin, shortness of breath, disturbed digestion and many other symptoms.

Food allergy often resembles other conditions, such as food intolerance. Food intolerance occurs due to lack of an enzyme needed to digest certain foods such as irritable bowel syndrome, the response to stress, toxic contamination of food, and some other diseases.

Treatment

Treatment for allergies is depends on the type and symptoms. The purpose of this treatment is to reduce symptoms and prevent allergic reactions in the future. Mild or localized symptoms may not require special treatment because the symptoms will disappear after a while.

You can do some simple treatments that do not require you to come to the doctor. The first way is consuming fluids as much as possible. You can try to consume more fluids such as mineral water, juice, or other liquids if you feel if you feel hard to breathe. By consuming fluids would help thin the mucus in your nose and can relieve tightness. Hot liquids, such as tea, or soup, can calm your breath because you can inhale steam from the liquid.

The second way is consuming Vitamin D. the allergies and the symptoms would be worse if you are deficient in vitamin D. If you have food allergies, try to consume at least 200 IU of vitamin D every day. The example of Vitamin D sources are fish oil, fatty fish, tuna, and salmon, but if you cannot get vitamin D from your diet, you can take supplements that contain a lot of vitamin D. However, you can get Vitamin D from sunlight, but you should still use sunscreen to absorb vitamin D and blocking the ultraviolet. The third way is to stop eating foods that cause allergies. You should begin not to eating certain foods that cause food allergy.
